As summertime winds down and school gets back in session, The Zachos Team wishes all students and parents a great upcoming school year! We'd like to present you with a few indoor activities to continue to beat the heat and make the most of your last few weeks before classes begin.
If your star student is about to move away for college, why not take one last trip to Atlanta to celebrate? The Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola are right next to each other in the center of the city, providing hours of fun for a day trip. The Georgia Aquarium offers mind-boggling exhibits displaying thousands of animals, while the World of Coca-Cola lets you learn all about (and taste!) the famous soft drink invented in Atlanta. The Georgia Aquarium takes about 3-4 hours to experience while the World of Coca-Cola takes around 2 according to each website, so one day is plenty of time to fully experience each attraction.
If you need a place to eat close by, or just want even more excitement in your day, Ponce City Market offers numerous high-quality dining experiences, from street food to sit-down delights. You can make a full day out of this location as well, as there are plenty of shops to browse within the building. It also connects to the Atlanta Beltline, and while it's not indoors, it provides a much-needed space to get some greenery within the heart of downtown.
If you're looking for some exhilaration, or just desperate for a nice breeze, iFly Indoor Skydiving is your best bet. This unique attraction just blocks away from The Battery in Marietta simulates freefalling within the safety of a building, taking away the pressure of really falling from the sky.
For fun and games, Dave and Buster's is always a classic choice. The famous arcade and fine dining chain has four locations around the Metro-Atlanta area, which are located in Marietta, Alpharetta, Lawrenceville, and McDonough.
And if you're not feeling up for a trip or just running short on time before the school year starts, why not watch a movie? There are plenty of back-to-school films that we enjoy; The Zachos Team recommends Old School, Animal House, and of course Back to School.
