“I think they excelled at reassuring us, keeping it stress-free, and walking us through, step by step. So it was just easy. We had to do minimal work.”
Another first-time home buyer, Corey Engel and his wife Monica decided to go with The Zachos Team for their first purchase. We sat down with Corey to find out more about their process and how it went.
“My wife went to the CrossFit gym with Paul. And I don't think he goes there regularly anymore, but that's how she met him. When she met him, he introduced himself as a realtor, so he was our first choice. And a lot of that had to do with his personality. He seemed like a very forthcoming, trustworthy person.”
As with many home buyers, Corey and Monica decided to take a leap once they realized it was time for the next step. As we care about the people behind the transaction, we wanted to make sure that step was right for them.
“We were in a rental property. We kind of felt like we had outgrown it, we wanted something a little bit larger, but it was our first home so we didn't want anything extravagant. We were kind of planting it as a stepping stone.”
Being experienced with reassuring our clients is a strong point of The Zachos Team, as Corey suggests. At the chance to help with an initial home purchase, we jumped on the opportunity to make sure it went as smoothly as possible.
“We didn't really look at too many homes with him, but the ones that we did, it was an easy process. You could tell Paul has been around the block, it's not his first rodeo, he's been doing this for a while, and it was apparent.
“He was a big help, super transparent. I feel like he was willing to share his advice, but not necessarily interfere with our decision making.”
After narrowing down options and making a decision, Corey and Monica were proud to finally be the owners of a new home.
“Like I said, this was our first home purchase. We'll definitely be going back with [Paul] the next go around. We have some other friends too that have used him and Dee Dee and have nothing but good things to say.”
In addition to experience in real estate, Paul’s construction background allows him to look over the house and notify the buyer of any concerns as far as inspection goes. Corey suggests that multiple inspections would be helpful, and as someone who can quickly identify problems, Paul fits the bill as someone who could give you advice on what needs a closer look.
“We didn't realize how important it truly was to give you an idea of future upkeep costs, some service items that may need to be done sooner rather than later. So that's something I would advise somebody on, is to probably get two inspections honestly, two different companies. So you can really go through them. And keep in mind the items that may or may not need to be done immediately after you move in.”
All in all, Corey and Monica were pleased with their home purchase, and if the time is right for you, you could find yourself in the same position. If you feel like it’s time to buy or sell your home, contact us today and we’ll give you the help you need.
“He's a good man for sure. I think he's really forthcoming, honest. And I think he gives really good unbiased advice. I feel like you can trust what he's saying and not necessarily wonder if maybe he has a hidden agenda, you know, just genuinely has your best interest at heart. So we’ll definitely be using The Zachos Team in the future.”
