Jacob and Taylor Kincaid are first-time homebuyers that The Zachos Team were able to find a home for. We sat down with them to discuss what the process was like.
“Our old house was a rental through our in-laws, and we knew we wanted to move at some point,” Jacob explains. “As soon as we found out Taylor was pregnant, we figured it was do it now or try to move with a baby, and that was gonna be extremely hard. So we figured we would do it before the baby came, so we wouldn't have to worry about having a baby and trying to move in the future all at the same time.”
Between work, schooling, and having a baby, the Kincaids needed someone who was willing to do the heavy lifting for them, and The Zachos Team was happy to take on that role.
“I feel like they were really good at walking us through the process because this was our first time buying a home for ourselves, and I feel like they were good about paperwork and stuff that we had questions about,” Taylor says. “They were good at explaining everything to us, walking us through step-by-step, and making us feel comfortable before we did anything.”
“Paul and Dee Dee were always available by call or text, so I could always text or call them if we had questions, whether it was nine or ten o'clock at night, and they would always respond back super quick. So that was very helpful because we were very stressed out with this process, since it was our first time doing it and we bought a very expensive house,” says Jacob.
It may have been a stressful process, but once the deal was done, the Kincaids had nothing but good things to say about the home.
“It's much bigger and much nicer than our old house that we were renting, so it's a massive upgrade. I think my favorite thing about the property is definitely the big open modern design for the newer house with a big open flat yard,” Jacob says.
“Yeah, we wanted a big yard for our dog,” Taylor adds. “So that was definitely one of the major perks of this property.”
As with many of our clients, our involvement in the community and building trust is what started this whole process.
“I know Paul from CrossFit,” Jacob says. “We worked out for years together, spent lots of time together, went to the lake together, hung out outside of the gym together, so me and him are great friends. I respect him a lot and I chose to go with him because I know he's good at what he does, and he has lots of years of experience and I trust him.”
If you’re considering buying or selling your home, contact The Zachos Team to have access to Realtors that you can trust. While their journey as homeowners may be just beginning, the Kincaids have already learned a lot along the way.
“It's a nerve-wracking process. If you have questions, no matter how silly they feel, make sure you ask, and make sure you ask plenty of questions because there were so many things that we didn't know about that we're still learning when buying a house.
“We know Paul and Dee Dee very well, so it was a pleasure working with them. They made the process easy.”
