“The obvious answer is always patience, no matter what, whether you're trying to buy or trying to sell.”

Kelly Gilley believes patience is a key ingredient in housing negotiations. She and her husband Trent have been longtime friends of the Zachos Team, and we sat down with both of them to talk about their previous deals.

“We bought and sold three homes with The Zachos Team,” Trent says. “I think what we've liked most about them is they've been exactly what we needed from a family standpoint and a lifestyle standpoint, the homes themselves.”

Just like with our other clients, The Zachos Team was able to tailor our recommendations to our client’s unique needs. However, that wasn’t the only reason the Gilleys chose to work with us.

“I'm in the construction business, and it made a lot of sense to me that my real estate agent would know construction,” Trent explains. “So I think Paul's experience was appealing to me because he's looking for the same things that I'm looking for in a house when I go to look. Is it constructed properly? Has it been well maintained? Are there any signs of repairs that are needed? Those kinds of things.”

“And on the flip side, Dee's financial background, this shows us that everything's done correctly too,” Kelly adds. “So it's a good balance. It's a good mix to have everything covered.”

Our experience was proven after three successful deals, and to Trent, it was only proof that his instincts were right.

“I highly recommend that somebody, if you're looking for a house, work with somebody who is knowledgeable beyond the real estate piece. That you do have financial expertise, that you do have construction expertise, that you do have mortgage expertise, and you don't always find somebody in the real estate business that well-rounded.”

Outside of construction and accounting knowledge, The Zachos Team has plenty of experience in keeping a deal together. One of our strong suits is sticking with our clients and guiding them through the process even when the going gets tough.

“I think they excelled at contract negotiations and price negotiations,” Trent recalls. “And they just felt like experts all along the way in the process. They knew exactly where you were and what you needed to do next and that was really good.”

“And I would add, from the person that gets emotional, the ability to calm the emotion in a very challenging negotiation,” Kelly says.

Even beyond our own knowledge, we pride ourselves on working with the right people. If there’s a real estate question we can’t answer, we can almost guarantee that we know someone who can.

“Adding another thing is that they have the right connections,” Kelly says. “Just with people in the mortgage industry, or when you're trying to get your house inspected, or have a good list of connections of people that you need to work with to go through the process.”

“We didn't really worry about anything, because Paul and Dee had a good network of options for people, whether it was a home inspection, or even contractors afterwards that I hired to do work at the house,” Trent adds.

We’re proud to have been a part of the Gilleys’ home buying journey for all of these reasons. If you have a home you’d like to buy or sell, reach out to us today and you’ll see how our experience and connections can make a huge difference in a smooth process. The Gilleys certainly aren’t the last people we’ll help in the process, so if you’d like for that next person to be you, contact us today.

“Everyone we worked with was good,” Kelly says.
