Spotlight on East Atlanta

The Zachos Team is proud to operate all across Atlanta, but sometimes it can be hard to know where in the city to start looking for what you need. We’ll be taking you through each section of the city to let you know exactly what to expect, starting with East Atlanta.

The east side of the city includes neighborhoods like the Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Candler Park, and more. The Atlanta Beltline project, an ambitious redevelopment plan, had its first finished section here, and encompasses a wide variety of greenspace, multi-use trails, and housing. The Beltline is perfect for walking, biking, and more right within the heart of the city.

Perhaps the most eclectic draw of East Atlanta is Little Five Points, a neighborhood in and around Inman Park. Little Five Points focuses on art and culture, presenting a collection of clothing shops, record stores, and trendy eateries. The giant skull serving as the entrance to The Vortex Bar and Grill will let you know that you’re in the right place. You’ll find all of this on and around Moreland Avenue, just south of Freedom Park, right within the heart of Atlanta. However, this neighborhood is just as known for its own cultural significance among young residents as it is for its convenient spot in the city.

The rest of Inman Park is an up-and-coming location as well, finding its way on a list of most sought-after residential areas thanks to its intersection with the Beltline. Right on the trail is Krog Street Market, a development encompassing a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Grab a bite to eat, settle in at a brewery, get into some retail therapy, join a workout class, or even get a haircut; all of this and more is available right on the premises.

The Old Fourth Ward is a well-known historic district that has also been outfitted with a bevy of modern amenities. One of the most striking features of the neighborhood is Ponce City Market. Similarly to Krog Street Market, the development intersects the Beltline and provides many shops and restaurants for a day on the town. However, this feature is arguably even more striking; the building towers over the landscape, and while the main public areas are within the first few floors, it’s hard not to be inspired by the sprawling construction and triumphant “Ponce City Market” sign looking over the parking lot.

The Sweet Auburn neighborhood, just off of I-85, houses significant history including the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park. This nationally recognized site preserves Dr. King’s birth home and burial site, and offers an in-depth look at his role in the Civil Rights Movement. The site also includes Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dr. King’s former church, as well as a museum, statues of important figures, and more.

If all of this sounds like your cup of tea, it might be time to think about moving to Atlanta. The Zachos Team operates all across Fulton County, including in the areas just described, so if you’re thinking of buying property here, reach out today and we can get you where you need to go.
