While we typically look at counties across Georgia, today we’d like to focus on an up and coming city near the South Fulton area: Chattahoochee Hills. This is a rural city with plenty of potential located southwest of Atlanta.
How far is Chattahoochee Hills from Atlanta? It’s just over a half hour drive to get to the center of Midtown, and of course the many destinations on the southside of Atlanta will take even less time than that.
Top Attractions in Chattahoochee Hills
Cochran Mill Park
With over 800 acres of land and 18 miles of trail systems, Cochran Mill Park is a destination for residents and out-of-towners alike. Featuring bridges, waterfalls, rocky outcroppings, and more, there’s plenty of natural features to admire as you travel through the landscape. The trails are available for hiking, running, mountain biking, and even horseback riding, so you can pick your preferred method of travel to navigate the impressive plot of land.
Bear Creek Nature Center
A powerhouse of conservation and natural education, Bear Creek Nature Center offers an exciting and informative experience. The main cabin on the property serves as the nature center itself, where visitors can see live animals including birds of prey. The center also has native plants, a pond, and access to a mile-long loop of trails through the property. And if that wasn’t enough, Bear Creek’s property connects back to Cochran Mill, so you’ll have access to all of the amenities there, too.
Campbellton Park
If the waterfront is more your style, you can find a perfect entryway at Campbellton Park. Situated on the north end of Chattahoochee Hills, this park connects the area with its namesake waterway, the Chattahoochee River. The boat ramp allows free public access to the river 24/7, while the land just above hosts several campsites for a longer stay.
Serenbe
A true gem of the Metro-Atlanta area, Serenbe is a community built with nature in mind. Known as a biophilic community, the award-winning neighborhood incorporates natural elements with close proximity to the city.
